Eileens crochet cowl

£8.00

Regular price £8.00

Designed by Victoria Harvey, VixterWoolista@outlook.com, Pins & Needles, Devizes  for Home Farm Wensleydales

One skein (50g/1.76oz) is just enough to complete this fine and lightweight cowl (or scarf).  Looks amazing with a little protection against spring or autumn surprise weather but also a beautiful accessory to compliment any outfit.
The pattern also gives instructions for a crochet scarf, for this you will need two skeins.  If you would like to crochet the scarf then please message me as you will need to buy a second skein.

Victoria has dedicated this little snood to my favourite ewe, Eileen.  Eileen joined our flock from the Millhouse flock when she was 18 months old.  A year later she suffered an eye infection which has caused her to lose some of her vision in her right eye.  This doesn't bother Eileen at all - she's the most friendliest, absolutely fantastic ewe, loves a good back rub and head scratch, raises triplets most years and can eat like a horse!  Eileen had her ninth birthday during lockdown in 2020.

Home Farm Wensleydales produce Wensleydale wool to the highest standard and the ethos of our farm is always animal care, welfare and husbandry first.

Our luxurious wool is made from our finest fleeces, washed and spun in Yorkshire.  Our wool is soft, smooth and silky, bursting with lustre and worsted spun to ensure great stitch definition.

Our pure longwool yarns are versatile and can be used for most knitting and crochet patterns as well as the lovely range that we have on offer from Home Farm Wensleydales.

THIS KIT CONTAINS:

50g (1.76 oz) of Home Farm Wensleydales luxury 4 Ply (fingering/sock weight) yarn in your choice of colour (shown here in Moreton Sage).

Pattern with clear instructions to complete your kit.

YOU WILL NEED: 3.5mm (US 4) crochet hook and tapestry needle to tidy any ends.

SKILL LEVEL: Easy.

HOW MINE CAME OUT: The cowl weighs 49g (1.73 oz) and measures 27cm (10 ins) wide and 72cm (28 ins) long - before joining and after washing and blocking.

COLOUR CHOICES: This pattern is shown here in Moreton Sage but please choose whichever colour you would like for your project.

LAUNDRY CARE:  Handwash and dry flat.  Unless you have a new machine with a clever pure wool cycle.

Packaging

Wherever possible we will use paper packaging

However, Europe, US, Canada and Rest of World, it is not always possible to use paper due to the soft contents of the package.  If this is the case, we use 90 micron polythene mailbags.  Recycling guide: LDPE 4 (Low density polyethylene).

Low-density polyethylene, or LDPE, is number 4-coded plastic, commonly used to manufacture shopping bags, dry cleaning bags and flexible bottles and lids.  Although not as commonly recycled as number 1 polyethylene terephthalate or number 2 high-density polyethylene, LDPE recycling is gaining traction as its post-consumer uses increase. One use is combining recycled LDPE with wood to create composite lumber suitable for light applications. All these plastics can be recycled into different products, but of the three, LDPE results in the most greenhouse gas savings when it's recycled.

But please - do not put number 4 LDPE plastic into a recycling bin unless you are sure it is accepted. Otherwise, you could contaminate an entire batch of recycled plastic.
